Professor. Getz has been a pioneer in the development of event studies, including event management and event tourism. He is author of numerous journal articles, books, and book chapters on these subjects, and has delivered many conference speeches and professional workshops. Since his retirement he has taught part-time in Australia and Scandinavia, participated in major consulting and research projects in Sweden and elsewhere, and initiated a new book series on Event Management with Goodfellow Publishers of the UK. The first book in this new series is Event Evaluation: Theory and Methods for Event Management and Tourism, and the second (to be available in late 2018) is Event Impact Assessment.
